Exit at 260 on Interstate 5 North from Bellingham, Washington. Travel west on Slater Road to Haxton Way (3.74 miles) where you turn left (south) and proceed to the ferry terminal at Gooseberry Point (6.54 miles).
The Whatcom Chief ferry, operated by Whatcom County, holds 20 cars and 100 passengers and makes its scenic run at least once per hour from 6am to midnight. If any number of cars are left waiting on a scheduled run, the ferry will make an additional run to pick them up (unless the return happens to fall upon a scheduled shift break). Round trip fares are $3 for vehicles, $1 for the driver and $1 for each passenger.

2007 Tentative Dry Dock Schedule
The Whatcom Chief Ferry will tentatively be in dry dock on September 8th returning to services Sunday, September 23rd at 7:00a.m.
